Our days have been pretty interesting lately with fun conversations and activity. Here is a sampling of some things Marisol has been up to:

Our latest "Zoobook" was about endangered animals and Marisol was very interested. We printed out this diagram so she could keep track of what each label meant as we read about the animals. She wants to have a meeting with all her friends so we can spread the word about saving the animals. We have an activist on our hands ;-)

The Barbie website has lots of fun games. One we played recently had a lot of geography.

Marisol cut out these stickers we printed out. Then she sorted them (by color and which ones she liked best) and made a picture for herself and Gerry. Writing their names was a finishing touch.

Kids love to play with change. Piggy banks led to dumping out our change, then wanting more which led to our stash from other countries.

So we got out our map from our Tag reader and put one coin on the country it came from.

The kids surprise me all the time. Gerry who was barely talking at 2 is talking a lot 5 short months later. His good manners amuse and delight me - Thank you (sometimes with an added so much mama!), and 'cuse me May may are everyday phrases now. He is starting to say Marfol instead of May may for his sister and Boppa morphed to Dranpa at Thanksgiving. He also knows his colors, some letters and shapes, and counts in his own fun random way. Not bad for someone who has only been talking for a few months!

Halloween Fun

Marisol was RIDICULOUSLY excited about Halloween. Our good friend and neighbor, Adrienne, LOVES Halloween (it's her favorite holiday) Adrienne told Marisol all her plans for decorating and her party at the BEGINNING of October. So the countdown began - every day, "How many more days till Halloween Mom?"
Luckily we filled the days with planning and decorating and activities. Adrienne even took Marisol shopping for decorations one Sunday afternoon! Marisol also helped her putting the kids' goodie bags together.

We actually didn't even Trick or Treat because Marisol was too excited about the party (We could barely get her inside to put her Lauren the Puppy Fairy costume on!). We partied hard at Adrienne's and when Marisol said at 9 o'clock - "Ok I want to go Trick or Treating now" Mike and I exchanged worried looks. I told her it was too late and she was upset at first - but some nice neighbors were heading home and we got to go to 3 houses and say, "Trick or Treat!" and she was happy. Made for a very reasonable candy loot too. ;-)
